About Me

I have been working in IT for the past 14 years and have seen so many changes in that time that really hit home just how much technology is evolving at pace. I left high school and went on to further education with a Grade A in HND computer networking and internet technology course and Dundee College, then went on to Study at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and graduated with a 2:1 (hons) in computer network management and design, During my time at RGU i started as a helpdesk tech on placement and gradually moved into working with Servers, storage and related infrastrutcture. I then accepted a full time contract with this firm who were an MSP working out of Aberdeen and the north east of Scotland. Most of my duties were server upgrades, exchange migrations and moving customers in to the virtualisation arena.

I then made a move to NHS Fife as a server engineer working mostly with General Practices migrating from legacy to new clinical servers. This post was where i picked up a lot of my knowledge with vSphere and NET App Storage. I then left after 2 years to move along to NHS Tayside in a datacentre role, after a number of promotions i am now the Service Delivery Manager for the Datacentre team. We have been running Nutanix since summer 2022 and it just keeps getting better as time moves on. I am excited to where out nutanix journey is going to take us.
